Welcome to Lazyhill Gallery online

The gallery is in the centre of the beautiful village of Abbotsbury situated on Dorset’s breathtaking Jurassic coast. Visitors to our gallery will already be familiar with our wide range of UK designer-made craft and art and now a selected range is available from our new online shop.

Currently we are highlighting the following artists’ work:

Mary Sutton

Mary Sutton is one of our most popular artists. Her wonderful textile pictures of local areas are favourites with locals and tourists alike. She layers materials and uses free machine embroidery to construct stunning images of Dorset. We also sell Mary’s unique range of cards. One of Lazyhill’s personal favorites.

Dr. Bean

What can we say about Dr. Bean’s Bags? They have been our bestsellers since we first opened – fabulous, meticulously constructed canvas bags in different colours and stripes, with Alison Hughes’s trademark printed words from well-known songs, children’s stories and the shipping forecast adorning them. They make wonderful presents for friends or for yourself.

Jane Cox

Jane Cox – We are so delighted to be stocking the work of this superb ceramicist. Her work has such quality that even those who know nothing about ceramics can tell how good it is. The colours of deep rich turquoise or velvety purples and greens cause more comment than anything else in the gallery. Cups, bowls, dishes and vases to collect, treasure and use.

B. and J. Mackinnon

Our selection of beautiful porcelain jewellery from B. and J. Mackinnon is utterly gorgeous. The necklaces are unlike anything you will find on the high street – the most superb colours and designs make for simply stunning pieces that will always be admired. There are affordable handsome cufflinks and earrings in many colours. Fabulous gifts.

Lorraine Chalmers

Lorraine Chalmers is our very talented glass maker. Since the day she first brought in her pieces they have been snapped up. Simple, elegant wall panels, often with seaside themes are so popular we can hardly keep up with demand. Coasters in delicious colours, some with dichroic beach huts, are great value and such lovely items for the home.

Clare Mahoney

Sometimes you just want to buy something that has no practical use but is just beautiful and soothes the eye. These porcelain pebbles and hearts are just that – balm for the eyes. White porcelain pebbles and hearts, impressed with seedheads and flowers and decorated with screen prints. Perfect gifts for weddings, anniversaries or just for the one you love.
